Senior Jesse Franco broke the CCS record for most points scored in a basketball game. Jesse scored 69 points against Trinity Christian High School on January 15th. The previous record was 65 points by Mark Haddan of Alisal, which was set in 1972! CCS stands for the Central Coast Section, which makes up over 150 high schools from San Francisco to King City. Jesse smashed that record and even got a shout out on Twitter from the man whose record he broke.
What some people don’t know is that Jesse probably could have gotten 70 points. He played so hard during the game that his calves cramped up right before he was set to shoot his last free throw. He had to be carried off the court and never got a chance to take his last shot. Give Jesse some props if you see him around school!
